After graduating from UF with a BS in zoology, I worked in Palm Beach County on a federal math project and a master's degree in education. Working close to the airport, I got up early and learned to fly. After the 3 year project, co-authored a three-year math text series that was on the state adoption list in over twenty states. I moved to Orlando where I taught at Valencia Community College and then later moved back to Palm Beach County, earned a specialist degree in community college teaching, married, and had two sons. We moved to Martin County where I specialized in teaching computer skills to senior citizens. I was also involved in diverse community activities which included organizing the landscaping of a school and persuading one of the counties largest employers, a hospital, to remove its very active incinerator. My husband and I have retired to a secluded wooded area in North Florida where we continued to do educational consulting for ten years but finally are retired. We have one grandson with whom we are very actively involved.
