I spent 4 wonderful years at the University of Virginia and graduated in 1966. I married my wife of 46 years, Julie, that summer and started law school that fall at the University of Florida. I graduated in December 1968. We moved to Augusta, Georgia, Julie's hometown, in 1969 and I began the practice of law with the firm now known as Hull Barrett where I have worked for the last 43 years.
We have three children all of whom are married and live in the Augusta area. We have eight grand children ages 15 to 4 so we spend a lot of time at football games, baseball games, tennis matches, etc.
In 1974 we bought 27 acres of land in the country and began the life long project of developing a horse farm. Over the years we have participated in a number of horse related activities competing in hunter and jumper horse shows, fox hunting, playing polo for 30 years and these days competing in cutting horse competitions with my oldest grandson. The family as a whole also enjoys spending time at our beach house on Edisto Island in South Carolina.
The Batchelors have been very blessed.
