March 4, 2007 What a nice surprise to get Lynne Grentner Wheeler's phone call about the reunion. It sounds like great fun! In the days since that call I've spent time looking at the photos of the 2002 reunion and at my Cavaleon, and wracking my brain to bring back memories of those long-ago days at Gables High.

After we graduated, I went to college in Ohio (Wittenberg), then got a masters at Emory and a Ph.D. in history at U.Mass/Amherst. I taught a bit and mostly worked in history museums, doing first museum education and then site management. I lived in Providence for 20 years, then moved to Wilmington, DE and in 2000 came to New York. I live 25 miles or so north of NYC.

More recently, I've done other non-profit work, including a very interesting stint with an organization that provides a college program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility. A major interest at present is figuring out where to go next, toying with the idea of returning to Florida.

I'm involved in lots of volunteer activities, am a ProLiteracy Tutor, working with a lovely Peruvian woman on her English, am an adult volunteer with the local Girl Scout Council, volunteer as an usher at a summer music festival, participate in an Amnesty International Group, and do lots of things at the Presbyterian Church where I'm a member and an elder.

I've intended to come to the past couple of reunions. I was signed up in 1992 when Andrew caused the cancellation. There was a museum conference scheduled (and held) for the same time period, so I did come to Miami then. The convention bureau begged the conference not to cancel. I rented a car and drove around in disbelief at the devastation. The conference held a party at the Venetian Pool, but events at the Biltmore and Viscaya had to be cancelled.

Five years ago a family event prevented my coming. So this is my year to be at the reunion. I'm looking forward to seeing you all!
