Member of Reunion Committee

As many of you know, I lost my dear David on August 26,2020.  We were “friends forever” and had an amazing life together. The outpouring of love from so many of you has been extraordinary. The word everyone mentions in remembering him is “kindness”. I was a lucky lady to have in my life for 67 years!     https://www.legacy.com/amp/obituaries/herald/196710581

My bio from our 50th Reunion . . . What have I been doing the last 50 years . . . a lot! I graduated from the University of Miami and joined The Procter & Gamble Company in 1966. I was the 2nd woman ever to be hired for a management position when I became Premium Buyer of the Toilet Goods Division. I later worked for two New York advertising agencies, and was Director or Advertising at both Royal Castle (yes, R.C. Steakhouse) and Burger King.

In 1982, I founded Nancy Bailey & Associates, one of the first trademark licensing firms where we developed brand extension licensing programs for Fortune 100 companies. In 1989, I sold the company to Warner Bros. After my non-compete expired, we re-opened. Our clients have been Procter & Gamble, Crayola, Coppertone, Energizer, Pennzoil-Quaker State, Pillsbury, Ocean Spray, Chiquita, Frito Lay, Hawaiian Punch, and USA Today among others. You may have seen some of our products like the Vicks Vaporizer, Mr. Clean mops and brooms, Cover Girl Eyewear, Crayola Sherwin Williams paint or USA TODAY airport stores. In 2008, I was inducted into the Licensing Industry’s Hall of Fame, the only inductee for trademark licensing. Other inductees in the Hall of Fame include Walt Disney, Jim Henson, Charles Schulz, George Lucas, and Pete Rozelle. It’s a huge honor and I am very proud of it. See Hall of Fame Video: https://baileybranding.com/awards/

I was also recognized with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award.

In 2010, David and I sold the company to The Omnicom Group (NYSE: OMC), and we merged with Beanstalk, a global New York based licensing agency. While I still will be working another few years, retirement is in sight!
David and I have been married 44 (hard to believe) years. We LOVE “Miama” and the world class city it has become. David likes to say you can go to any country in the world for dinner with no jet lag! We also like golf and have a summer home in North Carolina.

It has been a joy working on the Reunion Committee. We’re a small group but with everyone contributing in a big way. We are thrilled to see how many of you will be here. We had a very special class with wonderful friendships and so many of us staying in touch over the years. Here’s to a great 50th, we hope it’s the best one ever!!
