It's really been fun to see what y'all have been up to for the last 40 years...how is THAT possible? Beth and Chappie have done a great job on the website. I hope to use the site to catch up with old friends. After graduation, my family and I moved back to my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. I attended Ohio State University for two years before becoming engaged to my high school sweetheart, Alan Kaufman (Southwest - class of '59). We were married in Columbus on June 20, 1964. We returned to Miami and Alan took over the family business, Lucky's Antiques. The store has grown into a 31,000 square foot showroom on US#1 just south of Dadeland. He recently opened another showroom in Deerfield Beach. I have worked at several area synagogues in various office capacities. Currently, I'm the administrative assistant in the preschool office at Temple Judea. This has given me the opportunity to develop my management skills and keep in touch with a few of my friends from Gables. I still keep in close touch with Mike Messer and we see him often! We have two wonderful sons: Philip, 32 who lives in Plantation, FL. Philip is single and terrific! He decided to join the family business and is now the showroom manager for our Deerfield Beach showroom. In addition, Philip has traveled to Europe many times to purchase antiques for both stores and handles all our overseas business. Adam is 30 and lives in Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University (Culinary Institute), Charleston, SC and is executive chef at The Palm. He has a wonderful girlfriend who is also a chef. For fun, I do counted thread embroidery and have attended many seminars to enhance my skill. We love to travel and have made several trips to Europe. We love American folk music and have become very involved by hosting house concerts in our home. We have a great lineup for this year beginning in September. We'd love to have you join the fun! Please email me for further information. My life is full and happy...filled with loving family and friends who have become our extended family! We are fortunate enough to have a second home in the North Carolina Mountains. It is truly our refuge and we hope to be able to spend more time there in the future.
