Dear Classmates: My Family and I arrived from Cuba in August of 1960, just a few weeks before the start of my junior year at Gables. My two years at Gables gave me the first experience with Americans and their institutions, and what a wonderful introduction that was! I will always be grateful to all my classmates at Gables and the wonderful teaching staff for the warm reception they gave us.

After graduating from Gables, I went to school at M.I.T. in Boston, where I got my Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degrees all in Electrical Engineering. After graduating, I stayed in the Boston area (in Cambridge, actually) where I worked at several of the high-tech laboratories and companies in the area. In 1993 I founded my own small company, SenTech, Inc., specializing in acoustic sensors for defense applications.

I met my wife Mary Pat in Boston and we were maried in 1971. We have one son, Thomas who will turn 20 this year and will be attending Pratt Institute in New York to study Art. Over the years we have traveled some, mostly to Europe. We just returned from a week in Lake Como, Italy where we had a great time. I stay in touch with the Coral Gables community, where my sister has a house within walking distance of the High School. Although there have been many changes in the area, there is still a lot of Coral Gables that has remained just the way it was when we were in school.
