Faryl's Biography written in 2002:

Faryl S. Moss & Associates

After Gables, I entered college at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and graduated with a degree in History. Next it was on to Emory where I received my law degree. In the process, I married David Moss (Gables, '61).

David and I lived in Chicago. He became a Priest and I worked for Continental Bank as an attorney in the Trust Department. We left Chicago and moved to Atlanta. We divorced in 1982. I remained single although I spent many years with Arthur Baxter, my dear friend and companion, until his untimely death in 1999.

I never had children, but my niece, Michelle, thinks that is just fine! I enjoy my role as Aunt Fairy and have delighted in taking Michelle many places including Paris, Rome and the Amalfi coast. We are planning a short trip this fall to a yet undecided place. She is a wonderful surrogate kid!

Professionally, I have remained in the Trust business. I worked for National Bank of Georgia ,and its successors, as manager of Personal Trust, manager of the Trust Department and ultimately as President of SouthTrust Estate and Trust Company of Georgia.

In 1995 I decided I had been a banker long enough and opened my own business providing trust, estate and other fiduciary services. Much of my business involves estates and trusts that are or have been in litigation or serving as an expert witness. I enjoy my work as it is diverse and challenging.

I have been active in the Georgia Bar Association serving on a committee that re-wrote the Georgia Probate Code. I currently serve on a committee that is rewriting the Georgia Guardianship Code.

My passions are travel, photography, and gardening. My travels have taken me many places including Machu Picchu and China. In my younger days, I enjoyed scuba diving and ballet dancing. New challenges are fun and I will try most anything at least once!
